Preakness Results… The Dumb Ass Partners seem pretty smart now!
California Chrome, the $10,500 race horse, has won the second leg of the Triple Crown with his victory in the 2014 Preakness Stakes in Baltimore, Maryland.
It was another solid race for the three year old as he once again slipped comfortably into third place and then made a strong move to take the lead and the win.
It looked for a moment as if Ride On Curlin would overtake California Chrome would had made his move earlier in the race than at the Derby but he somehow dug deep and powered on.
So it’s off to New York and the Belmont Stakes in three weeks to see if California Chrome can do what the past 12 horses to win the both the Kentucky Derby and Preakness have failed at. No one has won the Triple Crown since Affirmed in 1978.
California Chrome has now won 6 straight races. Will lucky number 7 make history?
